Job Description

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Strategic Customer Engagement to join our US Pain Business Unit. This role will be responsible for strategically engaging with stakeholders in pain management, driving awareness of non-opioid pain treatment options, and supporting opportunities that improve patient outcomes in acute pain management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive engagement strategy to enhance market presence for Vertex, drive awareness of non-opioid pain treatment options, and support opportunities that improve patient outcomes in acute pain management.
  • Identify and prioritize key stakeholder groups for engagement in alignment with the US Pain Business Unit's business objectives and priorities.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term, compliant business relationships with key stakeholder groups inclusive of executive leadership, and formulary decision makers.
  • Ensure compliant and effective collaboration agreements that set clear expectations and follow internal review and governance processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholder groups, addressing inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate across the US Pain Business Unit with Market Access, Strategic Accounts, Commercial, Marketing, Contracting, Trade, Pricing, Legal, Compliance and Leadership along with other relevant support functions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare/biopharmaceuticals in marketing, consulting or agency in, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements for pre- and post-approval activities and ability to model expected behavior for the team.
  • Experience defining and executing upon strategies with the proven ability to drive innovation approaches to maximize effectiveness.
  • Strong innovation skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and courage to challenge the status quo to develop innovative and focused approaches to enable launch through data and technology.
  • Ability to oversee generation of insights, and apply those insights to business problems/opportunities.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative and results-driven environment within a growing business unit where we are concurrently learning & building as we drive towards product launch.
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to make strategic recommendations based on data and insights.
  • Role models high performing team behaviors, all in on team activities and setting the tone for accountability and engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive presence and strong MS office skills.
Flexibility

This is a hybrid-eligible role, which means you can choose to work remotely up to two days per week or work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
