Position Summary

First Baptist Preschool is a faith-based educational institution catering to children aged 2 1⁄2 years through kindergarten. As a member of the First Baptist Preschool staff, you play a crucial role in this ministry, positively impacting the lives of children and their families. We value your contributions and provide the necessary resources to implement a high-quality, developmentally appropriate educational program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Development:
    Focus on Biblical knowledge and belief in Christ, aligning with the school's mission. You will play an essential role in demonstrating God's love to children and their families.
  • Professional Conduct:
    Maintain attendance, punctuality, professional appearance, and effective communication. Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues through professionalism and continuity of care.
  • Health and Safety:
    Ensure proper hygiene practices, supervision, and maintenance of a safe environment. Our commitment is to provide a secure and healthy setting for all children.
  • Relationship Building:
    Foster communication, respect, and responsiveness. Develop relationships with families through teamwork and compassion.
  • Educational Engagement:
    Prepare lesson plans, maintain documentation, and create a stimulating classroom environment. Encourage each child's unique potential through engaging activities and positive guidance.

Qualifications

All staff members must affirm the Southern Baptist Faith and Message 2000, which outlines the core beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention. A high school diploma is required, and candidates are encouraged to pursue a CDA credential. Documentation of training and official transcripts are mandatory.

Staff must complete a minimum of 16 hours of professional development related to early childhood education annually. Additionally, certification from a physician or nurse practitioner confirming the ability to care for children is required, along with current TB screening and First Aid/CPR training.

Background checks and fingerprinting are also mandatory for all staff members.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a faith-based preschool setting is advantageous.
