Director of Business Development – Defense

Hidden Level Inc. is at the forefront of enhancing airspace safety through cutting-edge drone detection and airspace management technologies. We are seeking a seasoned Director of Business Development – Defense to spearhead our initiatives in the defense and national security sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a robust history of successful sales in these areas and is preferred to be located in the greater Washington DC or Virginia region.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and Capture New Opportunities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans aimed at acquiring new business within the defense and national security sectors.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders in defense and national security accounts.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of the competitive landscape and client requirements to inform capture strategies and revenue projections.
  • Maintain proactive engagement with both current and prospective clients, devising growth strategies and monitoring purchasing cycles.
  • Achieve designated sales objectives.

Enhance Current Client Relationships:

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to expand business with existing clients.
  • Utilize established relationships to uncover and develop new business opportunities.
  • Explore both horizontal and vertical relationships to identify new buying centers within existing accounts.

Communicate Our Value Proposition:

  • Effectively represent Hidden Level solutions to clients, partners, and the broader community.
  • Articulate our technological advantages and innovative methodologies for next-generation solutions.

Facilitate Product Development:

  • Act as a liaison between clients and the engineering team.
  • Deliver prioritized client feedback to steer product development and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Engage consistently with clients to gather insights for ongoing product improvements.
Qualifications

Proven Experience in Defense and National Security Sales:

  • Possession of an active security clearance – TS/SCI.
  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success in selling technology solutions to defense and national security sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of defense and national security budgetary and contracting processes.

Client-Focused Mindset:

  • Prioritize client needs to develop optimal products.
  • Continuously strive to understand and fulfill clients' mission requirements.

Accountability and Initiative:

  • Take ownership of prospects and accounts to drive their success.
  • Embrace responsibility and contribute to a high-performance culture.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Active security clearance - TS/SCI.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills from military service (retired military personnel are highly encouraged to apply).
  • Experience with government business development and contract structures.
  • Experience in building and maintaining an opportunity pipeline in Salesforce.
  • Experience managing complex technical projects in government settings.
  • Comfortable working in resource-constrained environments and achieving objectives in complex scenarios.
  • Prior military or contracting experience is advantageous.
