POSITION SUMMARY

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about public service and possess a strong sense of enthusiasm and job proficiency. This role involves providing exceptional service to both internal and external clients, ensuring their needs are met effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Customer Support Associate, you will be responsible for a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to:
  • Delivering customer assistance by answering calls and addressing inquiries, while aiding clients with documentation and equipment.
  • Managing account openings and closures, processing payments, and assisting clients with account-related questions and issues.
  • Resolving billing inquiries and complaints through various communication channels.
  • Collecting payments and clarifying billing and payment procedures.
  • Addressing customer complaints and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Performing clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, report generation, and journal entry processing.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all received data/information and conducting research to verify information requests.
  • Utilizing word processing software to create and manage various documents.
  • Executing daily accounting tasks, which may include calculating, billing, and receiving various fees and payments.
  • Issuing permits, certificates, and licenses as required.
  • Managing division mail and preparing correspondence for distribution.
  • Preparing and disseminating division records, reports, notices, and other relevant materials.
  • Reviewing invoices, reports, forms, and applications, and distributing copies to the appropriate personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate is required.

2. A minimum of one to three years of general clerical experience with extensive public interaction is preferred, particularly with standard office equipment and computer systems.

Additional relevant experience or coursework may substitute for the required experience or education on a year-for-year basis.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position is primarily sedentary, with employees sitting for most of the workday but may occasionally walk or stand. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
