Director of Diversity and Inclusion

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to lead our Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, developing and implementing DEI strategies, and promoting a culture of inclusion and respect throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement DEI strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with the strategic priorities of NYC Health + Hospitals
- Lead internal collaborations to integrate DEI practices into core people practices and standard work across the System
- Utilize DEI research to develop evidence-based initiatives and address DEI gaps
- Develop, collect, analyze, interpret, and report on DEI metrics to determine program effectiveness
- Provide overall guidance and direction of employee resource groups (ERGs)
- Identify and build relationships in the DEI community, focusing on promoting and enhancing inclusion and diversity
- Contract management/monitoring supporting DEI initiatives
- Conduct research and analysis to identify and address DEI gaps and remain current with trends
- Maintain community partnerships and host virtual/live events for external partners and employees
- Provide subject matter expertise, strategic planning, change management, thought leadership, and partnership to drive business outcomes
- A Master's degree in hospital administration, health care planning, business administration, public administration, or an approved related program
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance, or appropriate functional discipline
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrated experience with diversity and inclusion processes within a large, matrixed organization
- Strong written and oral/expressive communication skills for meeting facilitation and deliverable development
- Able to build strong networks and effectively engage and manage stakeholders
- Strong customer focus and commitment to employee/community and patient satisfaction
- Results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to deliver on commitments
- Strong Project Management experience with proven ability to drive a project from beginning to end with high customer satisfaction
- Demonstrated cross-cultural competencies, including strong emotional intelligence and the ability to engage and build relationships at all levels within the organization
