Job Title: Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to lead our Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, developing and implementing DEI strategies, and promoting a culture of inclusion and respect throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement DEI strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with the strategic priorities of NYC Health + Hospitals
  • Lead internal collaborations to integrate DEI practices into core people practices and standard work across the System
  • Utilize DEI research to develop evidence-based initiatives and address DEI gaps
  • Develop, collect, analyze, interpret, and report on DEI metrics to determine program effectiveness
  • Provide overall guidance and direction of employee resource groups (ERGs)
  • Identify and build relationships in the DEI community, focusing on promoting and enhancing inclusion and diversity
  • Contract management/monitoring supporting DEI initiatives
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify and address DEI gaps and remain current with trends
  • Maintain community partnerships and host virtual/live events for external partners and employees
  • Provide subject matter expertise, strategic planning, change management, thought leadership, and partnership to drive business outcomes
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in hospital administration, health care planning, business administration, public administration, or an approved related program
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance, or appropriate functional discipline
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience with diversity and inclusion processes within a large, matrixed organization
  • Strong written and oral/expressive communication skills for meeting facilitation and deliverable development
  • Able to build strong networks and effectively engage and manage stakeholders
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to employee/community and patient satisfaction
  • Results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to deliver on commitments
  • Strong Project Management experience with proven ability to drive a project from beginning to end with high customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural competencies, including strong emotional intelligence and the ability to engage and build relationships at all levels within the organization
