Service Writer Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Service Writer to join our team at WCTractor. As a Service Writer, you will act as the liaison between our service department and our valued customers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless communication throughout the service process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Customer Relationships: Build strong relationships with customers through effective management of service delivery, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Service Order Management: Create and manage service orders, including cost estimates, parts ordering, scheduling repairs, and assigning the most appropriate Service Technician.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate all necessary information regarding costs, parts, work, and Technicians to customers and management, ensuring clear understanding and expectations.
  • Customer Requirements and Feedback: Discuss customer requirements and relay those requirements to Service Technicians, ensuring accurate and timely completion of work.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate customer and equipment records, checking warranties and insurance coverage, and monitoring customer records for status updates.
  • Scheduling and Follow-up: Schedule regular maintenance and future repairs, and call customers to arrange appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous related work experience and product knowledge preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, strong record-keeping skills, and ability to understand and convey technical issues from customers' non-technical descriptions to the service team.
