About the Role

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist Level II to join our team in Santa Rosa, California.

Job Summary

The MRI Technologist II performs procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and preferably one or more of the following modalities: General Radiology, Angio/Cath Lab, and Computed Tomography.

Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures with skill, accuracy, compassion, and tact.
  • Operate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of MRI technology, including principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Health Science or equivalent education/experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • ARRT - Radiography certification or equivalent.
  • OR ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist or equivalent.
  • OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist or equivalent.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Experience
  • Two years as a Radiologic Technologist performing general diagnostic imaging and one or more of the following modalities: Angio/Cath Lab, Computed Tomography, or Magnetic Resonant Imaging.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures in general diagnostic radiography, including trauma radiography, routine fluoroscopy, pediatric radiography, surgical radiography, and portable radiography.
  • UMRI safety/protection.
  • Understanding of current departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MRA imaging with 2D/3D reconstruction skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, staff members of other departments, and the medical staff.
  • Ability to deal with patients from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds in an effective and respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform numerous duties at a given time.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions of technical nature.
  • Ability to maintain records accurately.
  • Computer skills, including basic word-processing skills and competence within the HIS, RIS, and PACS systems.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of basic statistical methods.
  • Able to adjust in a positive manner to changes in work schedules and assignments based on the needs of the department.
  • Capable of effectively utilizing the Hospital Information System.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a minimal amount of supervision.
  • Good communication skills (both orally and in writing).
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team or committee.

  • Demonstrates positive customer relations.
