As a Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics/electronic systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Expertise: Provide superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
- Training and Development: Directly train personnel to support company cross-training goals, ensuring a safety-conscious, quality-oriented, skilled workforce.
- Installation and Testing: Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system.
- Quality and Efficiency: Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, troubleshoot, and teach troubleshooting processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
- Repair and Replacement: Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices, including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring, to ensure installations meet conformity.
- Engineering Changes: Oversee the performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications as required.
- Test Equipment: Set up and operate necessary test equipment, conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Documentation: Maintain daily logs and other paperwork, ensuring that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented.
- Pre-Inspection: Pre-inspect work of others prior to submitting to inspection for approval to reduce rework and inspection time.
- Test Equipment Maintenance: Provide knowledge and technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems and components as required.
- Company Programs: Enforce the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
- Adaptability: Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
- Installation and Testing: Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system.
- Self-Inspection: Possess self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas.
- Flight Tests: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
- Preferred Proficiency: Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
- APU and Engine Run Qualification: APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
- Blueprint and Schematic Diagrams: Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
