Job Summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Avionics/Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics/electronic systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Expertise: Provide superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
  2. Training and Development: Directly train personnel to support company cross-training goals, ensuring a safety-conscious, quality-oriented, skilled workforce.
  3. Installation and Testing: Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system.
  4. Quality and Efficiency: Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, troubleshoot, and teach troubleshooting processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  5. Repair and Replacement: Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices, including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring, to ensure installations meet conformity.
  6. Engineering Changes: Oversee the performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications as required.
  7. Test Equipment: Set up and operate necessary test equipment, conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  8. Documentation: Maintain daily logs and other paperwork, ensuring that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented.
  9. Pre-Inspection: Pre-inspect work of others prior to submitting to inspection for approval to reduce rework and inspection time.
  10. Test Equipment Maintenance: Provide knowledge and technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems and components as required.
  11. Company Programs: Enforce the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
  12. Adaptability: Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  13. Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Installation and Testing: Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free system.
  2. Self-Inspection: Possess self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas.
  3. Flight Tests: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
Requirements
  1. Preferred Proficiency: Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
  2. APU and Engine Run Qualification: APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
  3. Blueprint and Schematic Diagrams: Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  4. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
