Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Fellow to join our team at the Hospital for Special Surgery. As a Research Fellow, you will play a critical role in supporting our research initiatives and contributing to the advancement of orthopedic and rheumatologic care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research Database Management: Develop and maintain research databases with guidance from the Principal Investigator, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Data Collection and Entry: Perform data collection and entry for studies as requested, scheduling and conducting subject interviews, follow-up visits, and phone calls to obtain data as per protocol.
  • Protocol Development: Participate in protocol development in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and co-investigators, conducting literature searches, reviewing and editing protocol documents, and preparing study initiation documents.
  • IRB Submissions: Prepare, submit, and file IRB and all regulatory documents, including data collection sheets, protocol amendments, protocol deviations, adverse event forms, and other required documents.
  • Statistical Data Analysis: Conduct statistical data analysis and prepare statistical graphs and tables in preparation for research presentations, abstracts, and manuscript preparation.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctorate Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in clinical research, orthopedics, statistics, and familiarity with spine surgery terminology is an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and leadership skills, proficiency in computer and software use, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
