Are you enthusiastic about developing innovative solutions? Within our Silicon Engineering division, you will conceptualize ideas and bring them to fruition.

You will join a team dedicated to the design of cutting-edge ASICs that play a crucial role in numerous Apple products.

We seek an engineer to focus on the modeling of power consumption across various IPs, including AI/ML components, along with the associated power rails, peak current demands, and voltage-frequency operating points for future generations of Apple SoCs.

This position offers a chance to engage in the optimization of a range of advanced chips for power efficiency.

You will work collaboratively with multiple teams, including architecture, design, thermal management, PMIC, and system design, to model power and current profiles for various IPs of the SoC, as well as the voltage-frequency operating points.

Your role will also involve collaboration with the lab and silicon characterization/validation teams to correlate models with hardware data.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conducting power dissipation and power delivery modeling,
  • Defining voltage levels for DVFM states of IPs, including Neural Engines, CPUs, Graphics, AI/ML accelerators, media IPs, caches, and fabric.
  • Modeling power dissipation for specific customer applications.
  • Engaging with the Technology team, Silicon Validation, and Product Engineering teams to determine voltage-frequency design points before and after silicon fabrication.
  • Collaborating with the power lab and testing teams to align models with hardware data.

Key Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, programming capabilities, and a solid understanding of low-power digital design and power principles.


Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with SoC power modeling and current requirements.
Knowledge of electrical characteristics of on-die PDN, power gating, and overall system power delivery.
Proficiency in scripting, data analysis, and experience with EDA tools.
Understanding of VLSI design processes and CMOS technology.
A strong background in Electrical Engineering.
Ability to comprehend and model thermal control systems and throttling mechanisms.
Experience with physical design tools for power optimization.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is one component of our overall compensation package and is determined within a specified range.

This allows for growth as you advance within your role.

The base salary range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, with your specific salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are also eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
