SoC Performance Optimization Engineer

We are in search of a talented and driven System-on-Chip (SoC) Performance Analysis Engineer to become a part of our innovative team at Arm. Our focus is on analyzing the performance of SoC architectures, particularly Arm CPUs and associated System IP, in both pre-silicon and post-silicon scenarios. Collaborating closely with design teams and clients, we aim to create top-tier silicon solutions across various sectors, including client computing, infrastructure, IoT, and automotive applications.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Performance Analysis Engineer, your role will involve creatively and effectively leading architectural investigations and performance trade-off assessments across diverse SoC components such as CPUs, I/O, interconnects, and memory controllers. You will conduct workload characterization to pinpoint performance limitations and suggest effective remedies. Your collaboration and coordination with architects and IP teams will be essential in driving consensus and achieving optimal results.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in SoC performance modeling and analysis within the semiconductor sector.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a specialization in computer architecture and microarchitecture.
- Comprehensive understanding of general-purpose CPU microarchitecture, including processor pipelines, caches, and memory hierarchies.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for large-scale software development, along with familiarity in SystemC TLM and Python scripting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions effectively.
- Familiarity with interconnect micro-architecture design, as well as PCIe and CHI protocols.
- Insight into workloads utilized for performance enhancement.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and requirements.
- Experience with Unix, scripting, and version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
