Job Title: Director of Multicultural Engagement and Belonging

Northwest Nazarene University Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Multicultural Engagement and Belonging. This is a full-time, exempt position that will play a critical role in creating a campus environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to promote multicultural learning, belonging, and engagement among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Provide consultation, information, mentoring, referrals, and mediation to students, faculty, and staff to support their success and well-being.
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate data on multicultural and first-generation student populations to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with departments and student organizations to plan and implement cultural and heritage celebrations.
  • Develop and maintain partner relationships with external organizations to support the University's diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, counseling, or social work.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, preferably in higher education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation students.
  • Knowledge of the Nazarene Church and its values.
Compensation:

Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant.
