Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in court when necessary
  • Oversee the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings
  • Advocate for clients by understanding their needs, analyzing situations, and formulating action plans
  • Manage full case responsibilities from inception to resolution
  • Maintain an organized and current filing system for client documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare reports on pertinent case issues
  • Maintain a consistent schedule of court appearances, hearings, and meetings
  • Communicate effectively with senior partners, paralegals, and clients throughout the legal process
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to legal assistants and paralegals
  • Draft legal documents including motions, briefs, and pleadings
  • Prepare clients and cases for trial
  • Engage with clients and collaborate with experts as needed
  • Develop and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Uphold professionalism in court appearances and client interactions
  • Organize and manage client files to ensure accuracy and completeness

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Family Law litigation experience (non-negotiable)
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice in DC
  • Exceptional writing and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize client service and teamwork by managing relationships
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Effective time management
  • Critical thinking abilities
  • Multitasking skills
  • Proficient in negotiation and persuasion techniques
  • Familiarity with Google Drive and G-Suite products
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Self-motivated and independent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Criminal and/or Personal Injury law is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with MyCase (case management system) is preferred
  • Creative problem-solving skills
