Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Counsel to join our team at the Department of the Treasury. As a key member of our Tax and Trade Division, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and counsel to the Administrator and executive staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Render legal advice and counsel to the Administrator and executive staff
  • Assist the Chief Counsel in determining which court decisions to appeal or further review
  • Furnish legal opinions and memoranda
  • Assist the Administrator in preparing and reviewing TTB publications and correspondence
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have two years of legal experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent level of difficulty in the Federal service or private sector. You must also be a graduate of an accredited law school with an LL.B. or J.D. and be a current member of a bar with a valid license to practice law in a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
