Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is seeking a board-certified psychiatrist to lead the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry service as Section Head. This is a hospital-based position that collaborates with medical, surgical, emergency, and social work services to address complex medical and behavioral health needs of patients.
Responsibilities- Provide care for patients experiencing delirium, mood, psychotic, anxiety, substance use, and somatic symptom disorders.
- Work closely with patients under the Involuntary Treatment Act with Single Bed Certification.
- Contribute to the education of clinical teams about behavioral health care.
- Collaborate with physician and advanced practitioners, medical and surgical trainees, nurses, social work, and other health professionals in a team-based environment.
- Board eligibility or certification in psychiatry.
- Consultation-Liaison Fellowship training and C-L Board Certification preferred.
- Psychiatry leadership experience.
- Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA.
- Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice.
