About the Position:

The Policy Associate will play a crucial role in supporting various policy initiatives within the National Security sector, including organizing events, producing publications, and facilitating outreach efforts, alongside a variety of operational and logistical responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of policy-related events, roundtables, and conferences;
  • Collaborate with experts and speakers, maintain and update relevant websites, and create communication materials;
  • Coordinate media opportunities for Institute experts and support the implementation of social media and press strategies;
  • Aid in the publication and distribution of research, advocacy papers, and other written materials, while also facilitating Congressional and Executive engagements;
  • Interact with leadership, staff, experts, media, government officials, and the public; and
  • Provide support to the team with additional tasks and projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Some experience in public policy;
  • Proficient in database management;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively;
  • Ability to engage professionally with individuals at all levels, including high-ranking officials and academics; and
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience in public policy.
