Overview:

The Home Loan Production Consultant plays a vital role in generating home loan business from designated branches and the surrounding mortgage market. This position collaborates closely with branch leadership, local real estate professionals, and various market sources to cultivate home loan referrals. The consultant is tasked with developing production strategies aimed at enhancing the credit union's market presence in their assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Generate home loans while maintaining high service standards and comprehensive product knowledge.
  2. Engage with branch management and staff to educate and strategize for increased home loan production.
  3. Collaborate with branch leadership to devise market strategies that attract new members and home loan opportunities.
  4. Build relationships with realtors and other business partners in the relevant market areas.
  5. Participate in realtor groups and attend networking events to promote the home loan brand and production.
  6. Analyze financial and credit data to provide initial assessments of loan and product eligibility.
  7. Stay informed about state and federal regulations relevant to credit union compliance.
  8. Monitor the home loan pipeline to ensure timely and accurate processing of loans.
  9. Negotiate with members regarding counter offers and communicate any declinations professionally.
  10. Document all member interactions in the Loan Origination System (LOS) for clear communication.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent work experience required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in mortgage loan origination.

Skills:

  • Exceptional member service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong credit and financial analysis capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mortgage industry.
  • Familiarity with FNMA/FHLMC-Secondary Market and FHA guidelines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advisory and consultative skills in home loans.
  • Proficient in using financial calculators and standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods with occasional mobility.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Occasional bending and stooping as required.

Licenses/Certifications:

MLO Registration is required as this position involves taking applications and discussing loan terms.
