Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient team at University of Utah Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, utilizing your strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions, and develop patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient status and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Implement evidence-based nursing interventions to improve patient outcomes and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to revise care plans as needed and ensure seamless communication.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or obtain one within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the healthcare team and provide excellent patient care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Experience working in an inpatient setting and providing care to patients with diverse needs.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care.

Workers in this position may be exposed to infectious diseases and may be required to function around prisoners and behavioral health patients.

This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
