Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient team at University of Utah Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, utilizing your strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions, and develop patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient status, identify potential health problems, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement evidence-based nursing interventions to modify symptoms, improve patient outcomes, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and provide education on post-discharge care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and safety protocols to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah or obtain one within 90 days of hire.
  • Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records and healthcare information systems.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment or patients, while providing medical care.

Workers in this position may be exposed to infectious diseases and may be required to function around prisoners and behavioral health patients.
