Senior Operations Research Analyst with Security Clearance

Valiant Integrated Services is looking for a dedicated Operations Research/Systems Analyst to support the strategic objectives of the Joint Staff J7 Deputy Directorate for Joint Training. This role necessitates an active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance and may involve travel of up to 30%.

The selected candidate will engage in comprehensive systems research, analysis, design, documentation, and the integration of innovative concepts aimed at improving the operational capabilities of the current and future Joint Force. The primary goal is to ensure the Joint Force can effectively deter adversarial actions, respond to crises, and establish conditions for success in conflict.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts in-depth systems research and analysis to facilitate the integration of innovative concepts across the Joint Force.
  • Offers expert consultation on various assessment functions to support ongoing evaluations of how Joint Force initiatives align with National Military Strategy (NMS) objectives.
  • Leads analytic efforts and the development of statistical models while providing technical guidance to team members.
  • Assists in defining the scope and objectives of research to enhance military decision-making and policy development.
  • Creates methodologies for data collection and analysis to support periodic assessments of the effectiveness of identified Essential Elements (EE) of emerging concepts.
  • Participates in relevant team sessions and collaborates with stakeholders to refine assessment concepts and identify collection opportunities.
  • Contributes to the development of a comprehensive Assessment Plan and identifies suitable assessment indicators.
  • Conducts operational and strategic risk assessments and recommends improvements related to research objectives.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of EE design and measurement, addressing issues related to EE.
  • Provides expert consultation on complex projects to senior military and government officials.
  • Completes documentation associated with research tasks and objectives.
  • Engages in presentations, training, and briefings.

The compensation for this position aligns with the government General Scale (GS 11) and (GS 13) pay bands.

Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree with 20 years of professional and/or military leadership experience or Master's degree with 10 years of professional and/or military leadership experience.
  • Operations Research/Systems Analysis (ORSA) or equivalent training or certification.
  • Ability to work on-site at designated facilities.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 30% of the time, including potentially hazardous areas.
  • Thorough understanding of national strategy, policy, and decision-making processes.
  • Experience in joint and multinational operations and/or exercises.
  • Strong analytical, assessment, and writing skills at an executive level.
  • At least 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, or related fields requiring substantial competence in mathematics or statistics (preferred).
  • Experience with Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, Corps, Division, Wing, or Afloat staff (preferred).
  • Familiarity with the Joint Planning Process (JPP) (preferred).
  • Graduation from Joint Forces Staff College or equivalent (preferred).
