Operations Research Analyst with Security Clearance

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Operations Research/Systems Analyst with an active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance to contribute to critical defense initiatives. This role involves approximately 30% travel and focuses on enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Joint Force through comprehensive systems research and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced systems research and analysis to integrate innovative concepts across defense operations.
- Provide expert consultation on assessment functions to evaluate the alignment of Joint Force activities with National Military Strategy (NMS) objectives.
- Lead analytic projects and statistical model development while offering technical guidance to team members.
- Define research objectives to support military decision-making and policy development.
- Design methodologies for data collection and analysis to assess the effectiveness of emerging concepts.
- Engage with stakeholders during Assessment Matrix Team (AMT) and Operations Planning Group (OPG) sessions to refine assessment concepts.
- Develop a comprehensive Assessment Plan and identify key indicators for concept implementation.
- Conduct operational and strategic risk assessments, recommending improvements to research processes.
- Monitor the effectiveness of design and measurement of Essential Elements (EE) related to emerging concepts.
- Provide expert consultation on complex projects to senior military and government officials.
- Document research tasks and outcomes thoroughly.
- Participate in training, presentations, and briefings.
Compensation: The compensation for this position aligns with government General Scale (GS 11) to (GS 13) pay bands.
Qualifications:
- Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree with 20 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
- Certification or training in Operations Research/Systems Analysis (ORSA) or equivalent.
- Ability to work on-site and travel as required.
- Strong understanding of national strategy and decision-making processes.
- Experience in joint and multinational operations.
- Exceptional analytical, assessment, and writing skills.
- Preferred qualifications include 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, or related fields.
- Experience with Combatant Command or Joint Task Force operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Joint Planning Process (JPP) is advantageous.
