Pulmonary and Medical Intermediate Care Nurse Opportunity

UW Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pulmonary and Medical Intermediate Care (IMC) team at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

About the Role

This 29-bed unit provides comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities, medical diagnoses, and hemodynamic instability. Nurses on this team are skilled in providing high-quality care to patients with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with complex medical conditions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote smooth transitions among levels of care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in pulmonary and medical IMC nursing
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the State of WI or compact state
  • Minimum 6 months of nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
  • Preferred: BSN, relevant RN experience, and specialty certification in Medical-Surgical and/or Progressive Care Nursing
