Position Overview

The Weekend Program offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated Echocardiography Sonographer to engage in a weekend-only shift schedule with competitive compensation. This program entails a commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends over a 12-month period, commencing with the first shift worked. Eligible employees traveling over 75 miles one way may receive a travel allowance.

Role Responsibilities

An Echocardiography Sonographer is a specialized Diagnostic Medical Sonographer who possesses the necessary professional credentials, academic background, and clinical experience to deliver diagnostic patient care services utilizing ultrasound and related diagnostic techniques. The responsibilities include:

  • Exhibiting the cognitive skills essential for executing comprehensive echocardiographic imaging.
  • Demonstrating the technical abilities required to conduct thorough echocardiographic examinations.
  • Possessing knowledge and understanding of the technical requirements for Contrast Echocardiography, including LVO Doppler enhancement and MCE shunt evaluation.
  • Completing additional duties as assigned.
Compensation

Base rate starts at $36.13 per hour. While the pay scale is provided below, it is important to recognize our compensation philosophy. We value experience and expertise, typically starting offers at a base rate of $36.13 per hour, with increases based on relevant prior experience. This approach ensures fair compensation for candidates' skills and contributions, reflecting our commitment to equity in the hiring process.

Position Compensation Range: $51.17 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Candidates must meet the educational requirements for Echocardiography Sonographer certification with either CCI or ARDMS; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Experience: No prior experience is required; however, 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Licensure: Candidates must possess RCS or RDCS with CCI or RCVT with ARDMS certification within 12 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification is mandatory.

Physical Demands

This position requires standing for extended periods, frequent bending/stooping, and occasional travel for outreach clinics. Responsibilities include reaching overhead, repetitive motion involving manipulation of ultrasound transducers, and the ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. Candidates may be exposed to chemicals, radiation, and blood/body fluids.
