Position Overview

The Weekend Program is designed to provide a unique shift schedule exclusively on weekends, offering enhanced compensation for dedicated professionals. This program entails a commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends over a 12-month period, commencing with the first shift worked. Eligible employees traveling over 75 miles one way may receive a travel allowance.

Role Responsibilities

An Echocardiography Sonographer is a specialized Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, equipped through professional certification and extensive academic and clinical training to deliver diagnostic patient care services utilizing ultrasound and related diagnostic techniques. The scope of practice encompasses procedures and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received appropriate education and demonstrated competency, culminating in the necessary ARDMS certification.

  • Exhibits the cognitive abilities essential for executing comprehensive echocardiographic imaging.
  • Demonstrates the technical skills required to conduct thorough echocardiographic examinations.
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of the technical requirements for Contrast Echocardiography, including LVO Doppler enhancement and MCE shunt evaluation.
  • May undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation

Base rate starts at $36.13 per hour. The compensation range for this position is up to $51.17 hourly. Our philosophy emphasizes recognizing the value of experience and expertise, ensuring fair compensation that reflects candidates' skills and contributions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Candidates must meet the educational requirements for Echocardiography Sonographer certification through either CCI or ARDMS; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Experience: While no prior experience is required, two years of relevant experience is preferred.

Licensure: Candidates must possess RCS or RDCS with CCI or RCVT with ARDMS certification within 12 months of hire. Additionally, American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification is required.

Physical Demands

This role necessitates prolonged standing, frequent bending or stooping, and occasional travel for outreach clinics. Candidates should be capable of reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions, and manipulating ultrasound transducers. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with attention to detail and legible writing. The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs is required. There may be exposure to chemicals, radiation, and blood/body fluids.
