Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Greenhouse Horticultural Specialist to join our team at Emerge. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, utilizing your expertise in horticulture to oversee the growth and maintenance of our plants.

About the Role

This role will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality products are produced and sold through our wholesale and retail channels. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in maintaining the reputation of Emerge as a leading provider of top-notch greenhouse products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the ordering, growing, care, and maintenance of our horticultural products and structures.
  • Monitor crop development and remove substandard plants to maintain quality standards.
  • Create an accurate production schedule for each growing season.
  • Order all plant material and hardwoods necessary to grow a quality product.
  • Prepare space required for planned production and time plants properly for optimal sales.
  • Inspect crops regularly to ensure conformance with quality control standards.
  • Have knowledge of major plant groups and their culture and growth traits.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of fertilizer injectors and greenhouse control systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of safe handling and application of chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides.
  • Ability to identify a wide variety of annuals and perennials and their cultural requirements.
