Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and sterilize medical devices to ensure they are safe for patient use
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including sterilizers, washers, and ultrasonic cleaners
  • Inspect and assemble medical devices to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Prepare and package medical devices for distribution
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization and quality control procedures

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician through an accredited organization
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Sterile Processing
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and standard precautions for safety and prevention of cross-contamination
  • Ability to communicate effectively with nursing, technical, and medical staff
