Turf Equipment Maintenance Specialist

JOB CLASSIFICATION:

REPORTS TO:
Shop Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is essential for overseeing the daily operations associated with the inspection, upkeep, and repair of turf and professional mowing machinery utilized in golf courses, resorts, and athletic fields. The individual will adhere to Revels policies and procedures, as well as comply with all relevant state and federal regulations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES (including, but not limited to):
  • Conduct diagnostics and repairs on John Deere machinery and technology.
  • Reference equipment operating manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating components.
  • Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions using computerized diagnostic tools.
  • Examine, repair, and replace worn or defective parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears.
  • Overhaul and test major assemblies, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery and its components.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders, submitting information punctually.
  • Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment necessary for job functions.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment and perform tasks in an organized manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while executing work assignments.
  • Stay updated on John Deere and competitive products.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of automotive repair, electronics, and/or welding is required.
  • One year of experience with various concepts, practices, and procedures in the field is preferred.
  • Formal vocational or post-secondary education in diesel technology or equipment mechanics is advantageous.
  • Experience collaborating effectively within a team setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of an adequate toolset to fulfill job responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to engage in various activities in the workshop, which may involve prolonged periods of lifting, standing, carrying, bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting.
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Service Technicians typically operate indoors in a noisy workshop environment.

They frequently lift heavy components and tools, manage greasy and dirty equipment, and may need to work in uncomfortable positions for extended durations.
