WORK LOCATIONS:

Various locations across the United States, with a focus on areas that facilitate high travel (80%+), ideally near major transportation hubs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Field Service Duties
  • Execute system installations, routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Diagnose system malfunctions and implement corrective measures.
  • Deliver technical support for Nikon Metrology X-ray products, adhering to established protocols.
  • Conduct product maintenance and software training as required.
  • Ensure the return of tools and parts post-service completion.
  • Maintain service equipment and tools, providing inventory updates as necessary.
  • Timely submission of timesheets, expense reports, service documentation, and other required paperwork.
  • Regularly submit radiation dosimetry data in compliance with company policies.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and experience with X-ray subsystems.
  • Represent Nikon Metrology with professionalism at all times.
Sales Assistance
  • Support Nikon dealers, sales teams, and fellow technicians.
  • Assist in the setup and dismantling of equipment for exhibitions.
  • Facilitate technical sales efforts for new products and services.
  • Encourage customers to consider service contracts and additional service offerings.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct in-house testing and repairs of spare parts and systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Skills
  • Proficient in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Possess a 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience (minimum of 4 years in a technical role or over 6 years of relevant experience).
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with complex capital equipment and related subsystems such as vacuum systems, manipulators, high voltage systems, and general mechanical systems.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to perform board-level fault diagnostics.
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Capability to perform field service tasks effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills suitable for customer interactions.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Skills in integrating and troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, and basic hand tools.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Frequent travel (80%+) within the country and occasional international travel.
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to navigate confined spaces as required.
