Volunteer Engagement Program Overview

We are seeking a skilled Volunteer Engagement Program Coordinator to join our team at Buckner International. As a key member of our Volunteer Engagement Program, you will play a vital role in recruiting, screening, coordinating, supervising, and engaging volunteers to support our programs and fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer program, including recruitment, screening, training, supervision, evaluation, engagement, and documentation of volunteers.
  • Design and implement an effective volunteer recruitment strategy for our regional ministries, assisting with information needed for printed and web-based materials.
  • Serve as a liaison between volunteers and staff to ensure that volunteer use meets the strategic needs of our programs and provides a quality experience for volunteers.
  • Maintain a calendar of all volunteer activities, distributing notices of activities and volunteer projects to applicable program staff.
  • Design and implement a volunteer engagement retention plan, including volunteer recognition events.
  • Assist with conducting tours for campus and community programs.
  • Support special events, assigned projects, and fundraising events that involve volunteers.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.)
  • Minimum of 3 years prior related work experience required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish professionally preferred.
  • Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner's insurance policy.
  • Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Requires ability to walk, stand, and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
