We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Community Development Advocate to join our team at FACETS. As a key member of our Education and Community Development department, you will play a vital role in assessing the needs of diverse populations residing in public housing communities in Fairfax County.
Key Responsibilities- Provide case management services to families in public housing, including client assessment, individualized client action plans, and crisis intervention.
- Develop and implement adult and youth programming activities to meet the specific needs of the community.
- Plan and coordinate events that promote the mission of FACETS, such as back to school events, Thanksgiving food drives, and sibling shops.
- Provide assistance to walk-in clients during scheduled walk-in case management periods.
- Train and support volunteers on relevant program material to ensure high program standards and safety.
- Oversee interns as their Task Supervisor and ensure that all learning goals and opportunities are being met.
- Represent FACETS and the ECD program in the community, in accord with Agency Mission, Vision and Code of Ethics.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
- Bilingual (Spanish/Arabic) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including Microsoft Excel.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, good driving record, and personal car insurance.
- Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
- Must pass criminal background and Child Protective Services background checks.
