Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Community Development Advocate to join our team at FACETS. As a key member of our Education and Community Development department, you will play a vital role in assessing the needs of diverse populations residing in public housing communities in Fairfax County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services to families in public housing, including client assessment, individualized client action plans, and crisis intervention.
  • Develop and implement adult and youth programming activities to meet the specific needs of the community.
  • Plan and coordinate events that promote the mission of FACETS, such as back to school events, Thanksgiving food drives, and sibling shops.
  • Provide assistance to walk-in clients during scheduled walk-in case management periods.
  • Train and support volunteers on relevant program material to ensure high program standards and safety.
  • Oversee interns as their Task Supervisor and ensure that all learning goals and opportunities are being met.
  • Represent FACETS and the ECD program in the community, in accord with Agency Mission, Vision and Code of Ethics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/Arabic) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, good driving record, and personal car insurance.
  • Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Must pass criminal background and Child Protective Services background checks.
