Role Description:

Security Operations Officers, often referred to as Security Guards, play a crucial role in deterring criminal activities, safeguarding property, and enforcing regulations on-site. Responsibilities may include monitoring surveillance systems and conducting patrols to ensure safety and compliance.

Primary Duties:

Front Entrance Management:

  • Visitor Management: Greet and register visitors, verify identification, and issue visitor badges while maintaining a courteous demeanor.
  • Access Control: Regulate the entry and exit of personnel and vehicles in accordance with established protocols.
  • Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorized access and ensure a secure environment.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Observe surveillance cameras to identify any suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Incident Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that arise during the shift.
  • Emergency Response: Act promptly in emergencies, including medical situations, and coordinate with emergency services as necessary.
  • Security Checks: Perform checks on incoming and outgoing personnel and goods to prevent theft and ensure adherence to security policies.
  • Communication: Utilize communication devices to report incidents and collaborate with fellow security personnel.

Mobile Patrol Duties:

  • Foot & Vehicle Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to maintain security and detect suspicious behavior.
  • Monitoring: Keep vigilant watch over CCTV and security cameras for any unusual activity.
  • Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to security incidents and emergencies.
  • Customer Interaction: Manage customer relationships, schedule appointments, and handle phone inquiries.
  • Reporting: Document and report any security breaches or incidents, requiring attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Gate Management Responsibilities:

  • Access Monitoring: Check in and out personnel, visitors, and vehicles, ensuring only authorized individuals gain entry.
  • Surveillance: Observe and report any suspicious activities, often through CCTV monitoring.
  • Traffic Management: Direct and manage vehicle flow, particularly in high-traffic areas.
  • Incident Reporting: Document any irregularities or breaches of security protocols.
  • Customer Service: Assist visitors with directions and information, serving as a point of contact for employees and delivery personnel.
  • Emergency Response: React to alarms and emergencies, including medical incidents and security breaches.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid CA BSIS Guard Card.
  • Valid CA Driver's License.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Experience in report writing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and surveillance practices.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Minimum of 2 years of security experience required.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
