Job Overview


Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the Enrollment Specialist and Advisor serves as a representative of the institution to potential students, their families, educational counselors, and other stakeholders involved in the college selection journey.

This role involves planning and executing recruitment initiatives for designated high schools and regions; guiding prospective candidates through the admissions process and presenting opportunities available at the institution while offering personalized admissions guidance to a diverse array of potential students.

An Enrollment Specialist and Advisor embodies integrity and strong ethical standards, demonstrating proficiency in engaging with a varied community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engages with prospective students through in-person visits to high schools and participation in college fairs within the assigned region.
  • Enhances application and confirmation rates by fostering relationships within the designated area and accurately predicting enrollment figures to achieve targets.
  • Provides guidance to students in the inquiry phase regarding the admissions process and available opportunities, employing a tailored approach to ensure high conversion rates.
  • Maintains active communication through various channels, including phone calls, text messages, emails, and print materials, to maximize conversion rates.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the institution's academic offerings, extracurricular activities, and financial aid options to provide accurate and helpful information for informed decision-making.
  • Assists with the daily functions of the Admissions Office as required.
  • Participates in both in-person and virtual events such as college fairs, career expos, secondary school gatherings, community outreach, and other recruitment activities.
  • Refers students to appropriate support services and resources as needed.
  • Utilizes various software tools, including spreadsheets and databases, to compile, analyze, and present data or reports.
  • Supports initiatives related to dual enrollment for high school students, including events and registration processes.
  • Contributes to on-campus activities, such as pre-admissions presentations and open house events.
  • Assists in the evaluation and data entry of admissions applications.
  • Handles transcript-related correspondence for the Admissions Office.
  • Reviews high school transcripts to determine initial placement in college-level courses.
  • May coordinate communication with students and relevant offices regarding transcript evaluations and admissions status.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Proven success in college admissions recruitment or a related field, such as sales.
  • Demonstrated public speaking abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and transport recruitment materials and equipment.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse group of students, staff, faculty, and community members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and active listening skills.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems while transitioning between tasks.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, preferably Spanish and English.
  • Experience in admissions office operations and related processes.
  • Familiarity with college customer relationship management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
