About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Trust Officer to join our team at Wintrust Financial. As a Trust Officer, you will be responsible for the administration of personal trust accounts, including estates, trusts, guardianships, agencies, and escrow. You will work closely with clients, beneficiaries, and other professionals to ensure the smooth administration of these accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer assigned trust accounts, including estates, trusts, guardianships, agencies, and escrow.
  • Monitor account activity to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and other professionals to resolve complex problems and ensure the smooth administration of trust accounts.
  • Represent the bank in court appearances, business-related activities, and other similar situations.
  • Prepare annual tax returns and coordinate investment reviews and meetings with clients.
  • Work with beneficiaries to review and coordinate distribution requests, including budgeting and monitoring expenses.
  • Open and coordinate investment roles with investment management accounts for personal and individual retirement account assets.
  • Collect assets with cost basis and acquisition dates and review with clients special investment requirements and investment objectives.
  • Open, collect assets, and tax information for custody accounts and review advantages of managed accounts.
  • Develop opportunities to expand the Milwaukee office and develop and maintain relationships with area lawyers, accountants, and centers of influence for business referrals.
  • Generate new revenue within the market for TCTC and retain existing client base.
  • Monitor files for compliance with TCTC policies and procedures and initiate and monitor asset transfers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of estate and trust administration experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate to professionals, clients, and partners with vastly different educational backgrounds, interests, and beliefs.
