Product Operations Coordinator

San Francisco, California, United States Marine Layer Inc Full time
Job Overview

This position is a 6-month contract role, designed to cover maternity leave. Remote work options are available.

From our early days of selling exceptionally soft t-shirts from a VW bus, we have grown significantly—establishing a strong brand presence, opening numerous stores, and most importantly, continuing to create outstanding, ultra-soft apparel. This growth necessitates a robust backend operation, and our headquarters team is expanding to meet these demands.

We are in search of a Product Operations Coordinator to become a vital part of our dedicated Planning Team. This individual will assist in overseeing our product manufacturing workflow, which includes managing purchase orders and vendor relationships.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for leveraging data to enhance business operations. A successful applicant will excel in a collaborative, cross-functional, and fast-paced startup environment, embracing new challenges as the company evolves. We have ambitious plans for the future and require someone who can contribute meaningfully from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase Order Management:

  • Generate and oversee Purchase Orders for both Mainline and Wholesale operations.
  • Adjust Purchase Orders in response to production variations.
  • Manage timely Purchase Order Reporting.
  • Forecast Purchase Order Flow.
  • Collaborate with Logistics to identify shipment consolidation opportunities based on production schedules.

Production and Vendor Oversight:

  • Engage closely with vendors, product management, and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with vendors.
  • Proactively identify production challenges that may impact estimated delivery times, enabling cross-functional teams to plan accordingly.
  • Monitor photo sample orders to guarantee timely delivery to marketing.
  • Communicate with vendors to manage chase or reflow requirements as directed by the planning team.

Qualifications:

Attention to Detail:
We genuinely seek someone who excels in problem-solving through meticulous data analysis. A keen eye for detail is essential.

Collaborative Team Player:
The successful candidate will approach new and challenging projects with positivity. You should be organized, self-driven, and accountable, with a passion for achieving results. Strong communication skills are crucial as you will work closely with various teams, including Merchants, Production, and Retail Operations.

Passionate About Building Excellence:
We are on the verge of something remarkable and are looking for someone who embraces challenges and is eager to play a pivotal role in our journey towards success.

Genuine Brand Advocate:
Understanding and appreciating our brand is vital. You should be able to represent the company authentically and contribute to its growth.

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in production.
  • Experience with Netsuite/ERP systems, Lightspeed POS, or Shopify is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive in identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to recognize urgency in meeting deadlines and business needs.
  • Coordinate effectively with cross-functional partners and team members.
