Position Summary
The role involves assembling and populating electronic printed circuit board assemblies, performing soldering, testing, and repairing boards at the component level.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble components such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, transistors, and semiconductor circuits into various units.
- Prepare and pull parts for assembly.
- Receive and inspect inventory of electronic components.
- Conduct inspections and tests on completed printed circuit boards.
- Operate computer-controlled automated machinery and perform routine maintenance as necessary.
- Ensure quality assurance of finished products.
- Maintain neatness and adherence to specifications in all work.
- Accurately complete all work orders.
- Participate in routine cycle counts as required.
- Evaluate returned materials and warranty claims.
- Document diagnostic results using digital applications.
- Maintain a safe and alert working environment.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Comply with EEO guidelines and principles.
- Report to work punctually and ready to perform duties.
- Carry out other related tasks as assigned to meet departmental objectives.
Safety and Environmental Standards
- Take responsibility for all work-related concerns and communicate any issues to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to safe work practices and maintain a clean work area.
- Ensure compliance with hazardous and non-hazardous waste regulations.
- Wear required personal protective equipment while working in manufacturing and customer facilities.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED, with at least six months of relevant experience in through-hole and surface mount assembly.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and follow assembly instructions and safety protocols.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in working with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Reasoning Ability: Capable of defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Visual Manufacturing Systems, Word, Excel, and CNC Software.
- Equipment Knowledge: Experience with digital voltmeters, soldering stations, reflow ovens, pick-and-place machines, and basic hand tools.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, and reach with arms.
- Frequently required to lift and move items up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or work in confined spaces.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
- Occasional exposure to varying temperature and humidity conditions.
- Noise levels are typically quiet, with hearing protection required in designated areas.
