The Community You Will Serve: AdventHealth Daytona Beach Inpatient Rehabilitation Center
Your Role: Deliver speech therapy assessments and interventions to patients to enhance and optimize their functional capabilities as directed by a physician.

This includes the identification, prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of individuals facing impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function, psychosocial abilities, daily living activities, and overall health status due to injuries, illnesses, or other causes.


Your Contributions to the Team:
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations.
  • Review medical records for all patients prior to initial treatment, leading to diagnostic classification or referral to another specialist. This review encompasses patient history, systems analysis, and various assessments.
  • Perform evaluations and make independent clinical decisions based on the data collected during assessments.
  • Integrate findings from patient history, systems analysis, and assessments to establish diagnosis, prognosis, and care plans.
  • Evaluate clinical findings, the extent of cognitive, neurological, and communication function loss, social factors, overall physical capabilities, and health status to determine the complexity of the evaluation process.


Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Active Florida Speech Therapy License
  • Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in interpreting video fluoroscopic studies
  • Background in dysphagia therapy
  • Vital Stim Certification
