Position Title: Journeyman Electrician

Salary: Based on Experience

POSITION SUMMARY

The Journeyman Electrician plays a crucial role in the effective execution of assigned electrical projects. Collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Installation Manager, this position involves organizing, implementing, and monitoring each project to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards. The Journeyman Electrician may also oversee apprentices and coordinate with the installation team to achieve project goals.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation Planning:

  • Engage with the Project Manager and Field Operations Director to establish the installation schedule for the week and confirm assignments for Crew Leaders.
  • Examine project specifications and blueprints, organizing the workforce and delegating preparatory tasks while arranging necessary equipment and transportation.
  • Utilize a materials checklist to ensure all necessary items are loaded and vehicles are well-maintained before departing for the job site.

Installation Supervision:

  • Monitor labor hours for each project, categorizing them into preparation, travel, installation, and electrical tasks.
  • Upon arrival at the job site, strategize the installation approach and assign tasks based on project drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols, providing guidance and training to team members as needed.
  • Make informed electrical decisions on-site, consulting with the Project Manager or Field Operations Director when necessary.
  • Document any additional materials utilized during the project on the materials checklist.
  • Notify the Project Manager when the project is ready for inspection, ensuring all permits are accessible on-site.
  • Complete the installation checklist before leaving the job site.

Post-Installation Follow-Up:

  • Submit the installation and materials checklists to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in finalizing project documentation after completion.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid journeyman electrician license in the State of Montana.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code, particularly regarding photovoltaic systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical components and systems.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel for installations.
  • Previous experience in the solar sector is advantageous.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
