Position Summary
We are in search of a highly skilled and driven R&D engineer to innovate and develop electronic hardware for Bridger's LiDAR solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to design, construct, and evaluate hardware systems that enhance Bridger's technological advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engagement in formulating project requirements,
- Establishing technical strategies and system specifications in alignment with project goals,
- Designing, laying out, fabricating, and testing electronic circuits, assemblies, and products, including a variety of subsystems such as power electronics, analog control circuits, digital interfacing, power supplies, clocking, ADC, DAC, signal conditioning, and high-speed data transfer,
- Optimizing various hardware variants to satisfy application-specific needs,
- Conducting hands-on testing and troubleshooting of hardware systems, including circuit boards, optoelectronic components, and subsystems,
- Collaborating with a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians on the development of new technologies from conception through R&D to the production of reliable commercial products,
- Creating and implementing measurement plans to characterize experimental optoelectronic hardware,
- Designing and executing reliability tests, including transferring procedures to manufacturing for quality control and assurance.
Required:
- B.S., B.A., or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with relevant industry experience,
- Hands-on experience in designing and delivering electronic products,
- Proven expertise in electrical hardware development, including circuit design, board layout, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting,
- Proficiency with Altium, SPICE, or similar electrical design and/or simulation software,
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with third parties for troubleshooting and product development,
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to efficiency in a fast-paced research environment,
- Capability to develop independent work plans with feedback and support from a collaborative development team.
- Experience in fabrication and prototyping, including soldering and board assembly and modification,
- Background in designing analog, RF, and/or power electronics,
- Familiarity with designing for EMC compliance and certifications such as CE,
- Experience in designing and laying out mixed-signal, low noise, and high-speed electrical systems such as PCIe or SATA,
- Programming experience in C, C++, or similar languages,
- Experience with the bring-up and debugging of digital embedded systems,
- Knowledge of optoelectronic components such as lasers, optical fibers, and/or photodetectors,
- Experience in designing for reliability in industries such as aerospace, automotive, or medical,
- Proficiency with Matlab or Python for technical computing.
- This is a full-time salaried position.
