UC Law SF is looking for individuals interested in temporary/on-call positions as exam supervisors during designated examination periods.

We have multiple openings available. Examination supervisors play a crucial role in overseeing students during assessments and ensuring the security and integrity of the examination process.

Our midterm and final assessments occur once each term. The Fall term typically runs from late November to mid-December, while the Spring term spans late April to mid-May, and the summer term is a brief period in mid-August. Each examination period lasts approximately three weeks, with the summer term being shorter. Exam schedules vary and include morning (8 AM to afternoon) or afternoon (12:30 PM to late afternoon) shifts, Monday through Friday. Shifts can last between 4 to 8 hours a day, including breaks.

The starting hourly compensation is $20.22/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend mandatory training sessions prior to each examination period (compensation is provided for training). These sessions occur about a week before the examination period.
  • Follow directives from the Registrar's Office:
  • Verify approved materials before each exam.
  • Manage the check-in process for all students entering the examination room by confirming identity with approved photo identification.
  • Ensure the security of all examination materials during assessments.
  • Communicate examination instructions to students clearly and professionally.
  • Distribute, collect, and account for all examination materials.
  • Monitor students throughout assessments to maintain a secure testing environment and deter academic dishonesty.
  • Report any irregularities to the Registrar's Office.
  • Quietly circulate around the room during assessments to observe student conduct.
  • Track examination time and provide warnings to students as the time limit approaches.
  • Check all students out of the examination room at the end of the assessment period.
  • Complete the Proctor Report after the exams conclude.
  • Adhere to established examination policies and procedures as outlined by the Registrar's Office.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capability to read and interpret written guidelines and apply them effectively.
  • Ability to stand and walk around a room periodically, navigate stairs, and manage multi-level classrooms.
  • Capacity to lift and carry examination materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds or maneuver a cart.
  • Ability to articulate clearly and project voice in front of groups.

Experience: Previous experience working with diverse populations in an academic setting is preferred. Experience in exam supervision is a plus. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read aloud clearly are essential.
