Job Overview:
As a key member of the facilities team, you will oversee and manage the custodial staff responsible for maintaining cleanliness in public facilities. Your leadership will ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is upheld across all areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and direct the activities of custodial personnel engaged in cleaning operations.
2. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of custodial supervisory staff.
3. Assess and evaluate the performance of team members, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
4. Establish and update cleaning standards, policies, and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
5. Maintain accurate records of personnel, work hours, and leave requests.
6. Monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage for custodial duties.
7. Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation related to custodial services.
8. Liaise with the public and other departments to address custodial service inquiries.
9. Operate a vehicle to travel to various work locations as needed.
10. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for custodial operations.
Work Environment:
This role requires physical stamina, involving light to moderate lifting and moving of equipment and furniture. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be necessary.
Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of two years of proven experience as a custodial supervisor, overseeing a large team in cleaning operations; or
- Three years of experience in a similar supervisory role with direct oversight of custodial staff.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required.
