Residential Support Specialist

Opportunity Overview:
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to realize their personal aspirations and objectives. This position involves overnight stays at a residential facility.Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate each individual receiving support to understand their aspirations and desires, providing tailored assistance to help them achieve these goals.
- Encourage individuals to foster connections within their community and with their personal support networks.
- Assist individuals in engaging fully in community activities that align with their interests.
- Uphold and advocate for the rights of each individual, ensuring they are protected and promoted at all times. Support individuals in developing self-advocacy skills and participating in advocacy initiatives.
- Provide necessary support to address the emotional, physical, and medical needs of each individual.
- Facilitate positive, person-centered relationships with individuals using approaches that promote self-determination across all life areas.
- Contribute insights and recommendations during assessment and planning processes, aiding in the development of personalized plans.
- Implement individual plans in accordance with service definitions, ensuring accurate documentation as required by agency policies.
- Maintain daily progress notes and communication logs to track appointments, goals, and interests.
- Participate actively in meetings and training sessions, maintaining compliance with all required certifications.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to all agency policies, as well as state and federal regulations relevant to the program.
- Assist individuals with daily household operations, including cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, shopping, and vehicle maintenance.
- Provide support during late-night hours as needed.
- Drive and provide transportation for individuals as required.
- Educate individuals on emergency procedures and personal safety, utilizing sound judgment in safety-related matters.
- Support new and existing staff through orientation, mentoring, and training.
- Follow service definition guidelines for the services provided.
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma (Required)
Certification Requirements:
Valid Driver's License (USA)
Experience Requirements:
Experience in Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities
Work Schedule:
Every other weekend: Friday (5:00 PM - 10:00 PM), Saturday (6:00 AM - 10:00 PM), and Sunday (6:00 AM - 5:00 PM) [Overnight]
