Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently triage, interpret, and input medication orders into the computerized order management system while adhering to the pharmacy's accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
- Conduct audits comparing input data with documentation, making necessary corrections to ensure precision.
- Perform essential drug calculations, including basic math conversions (e.g., milligrams).
- Address issues related to claim denials identified during adjudication and manage follow-up claims in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and procedures.
- Generate reports and keep management informed regarding unpaid claims and those pending follow-up.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, aligning with company values.
- Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned, which may involve supporting various areas of the pharmacy as directed by management.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday from 2 PM to 10 PM, with potential weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy-related role.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medication terminology, and the metric system; proficiency in computer operations.
Licenses/Certifications:
As mandated by state regulations. Not required in the state of NY. Must possess attention to detail, goal orientation, teamwork skills, customer service aptitude, and effective oral communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a specialty pharmacy environment.
