Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Developer to assist with a 135 MW solar project in Alamosa County, CO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for positively engaging with the local community, government officials, and key stakeholders to build support for the solar project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Engagement: Serve as the face of the project to the local community, building and fostering strong relationships with local residents, community leaders, and interest groups.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Engage with local politicians, county commissioners, and government agencies to advocate for the project, ensuring it aligns with the county's goals and benefits the local economy.
  • Public Outreach: Organize and lead town hall meetings, informational sessions, and other events to communicate the benefits of the solar project, such as environmental impact, job creation, and energy savings.
  • Project Strategy: Collaborate with the internal project team and external stakeholders to develop strategies that maximize positive public perception and address regulatory challenges.
  • Negotiation & Advocacy: Serve as a strong advocate for the project, negotiating terms and conditions with government entities, ensuring the project meets all regulatory requirements and community expectations.
  • Reporting & Updates: Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and stakeholder feedback to the internal team, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management or development, ideally in renewable energy or solar projects.
  • Strong understanding of local government permitting processes, particularly related to large-scale solar developments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders, including government officials and community leaders.
  • Ability to navigate political landscapes and work effectively with diverse groups to achieve project goals.
  • Familiarity with local or state energy policies and regulations is a plus.
