Position Overview

The Aquatic Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing and enhancing a comprehensive aquatics program that includes various activities such as swim teams, lifeguard training, and aquatic events. This role requires a degree of independence in creating work methods and sequences.

Primary Responsibilities

Key duties include:
  • Delivering swimming lessons and water safety classes.
  • Supporting recreational swim teams and aquatic programs.
  • Providing lifeguard services and administering CPR/First Aid.
  • Assisting in organizing events at the Aquatic Center.
  • Maintaining records related to facilities and personnel.
  • Managing facility finances and promoting aquatic programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all aquatic facility protocols.
  • Participating in regular in-service training.
  • Helping to plan and execute programs and aquatic activities for various age groups.
  • Effectively interacting with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ensuring safety during all programs and activities.
  • Monitoring aquatic facilities for safety and cleanliness.
  • Keeping an inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assisting in the planning and monitoring of programs for all ages.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least six months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.
  • Successful completion of skills tests including swimming and rescue tasks.
Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Water Safety Instructor Certification is preferred.

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Work Hours:
Varied shifts throughout the week, including weekends and evenings.
