Position Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Fire Systems Inspector responsible for the systematic examination and assessment of fire alarm and sprinkler systems. The inspector will meticulously document the systems and components inspected, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and manufacturer standards while identifying any deficiencies or issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and tests on fire alarm systems, including control panels, power supplies, initiating devices, and notification systems.
  • Inspect and test fire sprinkler systems, focusing on piping, sprinklers, pumps, valves, and alarm devices.
  • Utilize basic hand tools for operational testing of equipment.
  • Identify and document any deficiencies in systems or components, communicating urgent matters effectively.
  • Engage with clients to facilitate access to components and discuss system issues.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all inspection and testing results.
  • Communicate daily with the Project Manager or Schedule Coordinator regarding job requirements and status updates.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in computer and smartphone usage, including Microsoft Windows and Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with NFPA 72 and NFPA 25 standards.
  • Certification in Backflow Testing.
  • State of Florida Water-Based Permit is advantageous.
  • NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems or Academy Exams Certification is a plus.

Compensation: $18 - $27 per hour based on experience.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to use hands for handling and communication, frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, and climbing. The inspector must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and possess specific vision capabilities, including close and distance vision.
