Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Lifeguard to join our team at La Gorce Country Club. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of pool patrons and assisting with aquatic programs and pool operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional member service, management, and consistency to the club environment with a focus on safety and programming.
  • Ensure the safety of pool patrons and assist with aquatic programs and pool operations.
  • Safeguard and regulate the conduct of pool patrons.
  • Enforce pool policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Rescue patrons and perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid.
  • Test water quality in the pool and maintain appropriate records.
  • Maintain proper chemical balances in both pool and hot tub as directed.
  • Handle mechanical/pump room or chemical problems as necessary.
  • Responsible for the proper organizational maintenance and sanitary upkeep of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms.
  • Conduct patron swimming tests to assess the ability to swim independently and unattended.
  • Teach lessons and classes, executing fitness program design in a safe and effective way.
  • Be responsible for the security of self and others.
  • Office organizational, management, and computer skills.
  • Must follow instructions precisely.
  • Certifications (Lifeguard, CPO, AFO Swim Lessons) and CPR/First Aid certified for the Professional Rescuer.
  • WSI lifeguard training or equivalent.
  • Continuing education to keep certifications and knowledge current.

The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, pool mechanical systems. The employee constantly is exposed to wet and dry conditions, fumes, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud when in the facility.
