Job Summary

Pride Health is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to support our client's medical facility in New Britain, CT. This is a 3+ month contract opportunity with the possibility of a contract-to-hire position, offering a great chance to work with a top-tier healthcare organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
  • Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  • Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
  • Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Phlebotomy Certification Required.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish/English.
