Top Tier Reps LLC is a reputable law firm seeking an experienced Conflict Resolution Specialist - Senior Attorney to join our team. As a member of our risk management department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the firm's compliance with policies and procedures related to conflict resolution.
Estimated Salary: $172,000 - $220,000 per year
Job Description:
- Review and Analyze Complex Conflict Matters: Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of complex conflict matters related to business intake and lateral hire onboarding, providing expert advice to ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.
- Facilitate Communication among Attorneys: Collaborate with attorneys to resolve ethical and business conflicts, utilizing diplomacy and discretion to achieve resolutions.
- Develop Internal Risk Policies and Procedures: Work closely with the General Counsel, Risk Attorneys, and Director of Risk Management to develop and refine internal risk policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal ethics and regulatory requirements.
- Stay Informed on Legal Developments: Research and stay informed on legal ethics, court rulings, regulatory matters, and risk management developments that could impact the firm, providing guidance to colleagues and management on best practices.
- Advise and Train Colleagues: Provide training and guidance to attorneys and staff on ethical, conflict, and compliance issues, including new rules and regulations, ensuring all team members are equipped to navigate complex conflicts effectively.
- Draft and Review Documents: Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement letters, and other documents to ensure alignment with ethical rules and firm policies, maintaining confidentiality and discretion throughout the process.
- Assess Terms of Engagement: Assess terms of engagement and outside counsel guidelines, identifying issues that require further review for business and compliance reasons, ensuring seamless integration with existing policies and procedures.
- Support Lateral Hire Team: Assist the lateral hire team in identifying, escalating, and resolving conflict and onboarding issues, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires.
- Contribute to Special Projects: Participate in special projects as directed by the General Counsel or Director of Risk Management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing needs and priorities.
- Perform Other Related Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned, embracing opportunities to grow and contribute to the success of Top Tier Reps LLC.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Expert Knowledge of Professional Responsibility: Possess in-depth knowledge of the rules of professional responsibility, including multiple U.S. state and international jurisdictions where the firm's clients are based.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong communication skills, effectively explaining complex legal conclusions to attorneys and staff, and providing confident advice to management on risk matters.
- Advanced Understanding of Law Firm Conflicts: Exhibit advanced understanding of law firm conflicts and the business intake process, leveraging expertise to drive compliance and mitigate risk.
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Showcase exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, managing multiple projects on tight timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
- Juris Doctorate and Admission to Practice: Hold a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in the state of residence and/or the state where the work will be performed.
