As a Release Engineer, you will be pivotal in promoting the continuous delivery of software through ongoing enhancements and will lead the automation of the development pipeline. Your efforts will support key aspects such as code quality, testing coverage, security assessments, threat analysis, build integrity, and more. The primary objective is to enhance the developer experience at MISO while ensuring high standards of code quality and security, all while minimizing risks associated with deployment and rollbacks.

  • Oversee CI/CD DevSecOps tools and pipelines, collaborating closely with development teams to enhance the developer experience.
  • Work alongside development teams to design, implement, test, and automate software delivery workflows.
  • Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Engage in design discussions and contribute to technical decision-making processes.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to optimizing all software engineering practices.

To excel as a Release Engineer, the following qualifications are essential:

  • Proven experience in CI/CD implementation, maintenance, and administration (preferably with GitHub Enterprise).
  • Proficiency in one or more programming and scripting languages (Python is required; familiarity with Java, JavaScript, C#, Bash, or PowerShell is advantageous).
  • Experience with containerization technologies and related tools (such as Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and Agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code practices and tools (like Terraform and Ansible) is preferred.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure is preferred).
  • Familiarity with end-to-end system design and implementation for high reliability is a plus.
