Role Overview: The Industrial Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and enhancement of machinery and equipment to ensure peak operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections to assess equipment functionality.
  • Perform temperature evaluations and visual assessments of machinery within designated areas.
  • Guarantee the optimal performance of mechanical systems by fulfilling maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and processing equipment.
  • Document inspection results on maintenance logs to facilitate scheduling of necessary repairs.
  • Procure necessary components for machinery and maintain an organized inventory of parts.
  • Compile a list of essential rebuild components for equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols by utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and securing necessary tools before maintenance tasks.
  • Label and store removed parts to prevent loss and facilitate future repairs.
  • Adjust machinery and control systems using various hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Minimize downtime by educating production staff on routine maintenance practices and monitoring adherence.
  • Fabricate and repair components utilizing machine shop tools and welding equipment.
  • Provide mechanical insights by addressing inquiries and requests from team members.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related outcomes as required.
  • Perform operational checks on machinery post-maintenance and ensure all safety locks are disengaged before vacating work areas.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in industrial maintenance is preferred, with poultry industry experience being highly advantageous.
  • An Associate's degree or relevant certifications will be considered.
  • Proficient in utilizing manuals and measuring tools to conduct preventive maintenance on conveying systems and processing equipment, following operational diagrams and specifications.
  • Ability to identify issues by observing mechanical operations and recognizing potential malfunctions.
  • Skilled in disassembling equipment and replacing defective parts using various tools.
  • Possess problem sensitivity to detect when issues arise.
  • Capable of interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Physically fit to perform activities requiring significant use of arms and legs, including lifting and climbing.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions.
